When Christmas time approaches I do a clean out of my children’s rooms… making space for the influx of all the new ‘stuff’ that seems to arrive each and every Christmas. Obviously I dispose of the broken toys, the old and worn clothes and damaged books, but there are a lot of toys that just haven’t been played with... clothes hardly worn, grown out of, or never liked. Toys and books are often age-specific and no longer appropriate but still in good working order. I must admit that do have moments of overwhelming embarrassment when I see the excess collected after a pre-Christmas clean-out.
